SPRINGFIELD  –  State lawmakers said “wait til after the primary” for any action on Illinois’ budget woes.  Now that the primary has passed lawmakers are once again saying “wait.”

But this time it’s let’s wait and see what could happen.

Springfield Republican Larry Bomke says the budget will dominate the spring legislative session.  But he doesn’t think there will be lawmakers can do.

Democratic State Senator Toi Hutchinson says there is a price “for doing nothing.”  She thinks a tax increase could pass, even though she doesn’t think it’ll be Governor Pat Quinn’s income tax proposal.

The governor has asked to delay his budget address til next month, which Bomke says will only delay any real work in Springfield.
